After a long search for a home in Memphis, our family settled in Harbor Town in 2009. Our neighborhood is truly unique and as President of the Harbor Town Community Association I will do my best to ensure it continues to be a great place to call home.

What I bring to Harbor Town is my ability to build consensus, help management teams develop strong, achievable strategies, and to subsequently ensure they execute on their commitments.

I grew up in the Netherlands, where my father’s job as a repairman set me on my path to become an engineer. After earning my BS in Computer Science, I picked up and moved to England to earn an advanced degree and start my career in the technology field working across Europe and the Middle East. In 2001 I crossed the pond to pursue my MBA at Duke University. Since then I have worked as a venture capitalist investing in dozens of startup companies and have served on over a dozen of boards.

For fun we like to socialize with our friends and neighbors, which often involves a nice meal and some wine. Our dogs keep us entertained and enjoy the wind in their hair riding through the neighborhood in our golf cart.

My love for downtown Memphis began over 30 years ago when I worked on Second Street for E.H. Clarke & Brother and it continues to this day.  My wife, Susie, and I are employed by Bondurant Futures, Inc., where I am responsible for detailed research analysis of the commodity futures market and also back office administration.  After our three children left home, Susie and I moved to Harbor Town in 2004 and were welcomed by friendly neighbors and a beautiful setting by the river.  You might find us working in our garden or traveling when the Vols aren’t playing. I also enjoy refinishing and restoring old furniture, particularly anything made of oak. I have always been community minded and served on the Board of our previous neighborhood. Due to its location, our community faces unique challenges and opportunities.  I will listen, learn and work to keep our neighborhood the most desirable location in Memphis.

Cristina Dias Guibao

Originally from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Cristina has called Harbor Town home since 1999.  She attended Rhodes College, where she met her husband, Paul, and together they have two boys (Holden and Jonas) and a Boston Terrier (Omar).

Cristina has worked at St Jude Children's Research Hospital since moving back to Memphis from Atlanta in 1999.  At St Jude, she works in the Structural Biology department, but don't be intimidated, Cristina will tell you scientific research is a lot like cooking, one of her many passions.   She is also an avid reader, marathon runner and gardener.

In the community, Cristina is on the Board of Governors of the Levitt Shell and an active member of the St Jude Women's Club. Additionally, she and Paul are actively involved with many arts organizations in the city.

On the Island, Cristina enjoys interacting with her neighbors on the northwest-most corner of Harbor Town, a group she has dubbed the "Northwesters," and being a member of the Harbor Town book club.  If you meet her she may try to convince you to join one of the neighborhood groups or in the morning for a run.  She also enjoyed serving on the committee responsible for planning Sunset Park.  Cristina has many exciting ideas and is enthusiastic about serving on the Harbor Town Homeowners Association Board.

"Harbor Town is a gem of a community and a vibrant part of the city of Memphis."  Cristina Guibao

As a Memphis resident for 15 years, and a Harbor Town resident for 11 of those years, I overwhelmingly appreciate the uniqueness of our downtown neighborhood.  My husband and I were initially drawn to Harbor Town for its location: in the heart of the city, but with the feeling of being miles away.  We came to love the close-knit community that is Harbor Town, a place where you can actually get to know your neighbors, and we adore its unsurpassed architectural beauty.  The family friendly nature has solidified our desire to raise our children here in Harbor Town, an undeniably one of a kind place.

I am a native of Wichita, Kansas, but moved to Memphis in 1998 and earned my Bachelor of Arts at Christian Brothers University followed by a Masters of Science from the University of Memphis.  I have been married to my husband Matthew for 11 years and we have two wonderful sons together, Jackson and Mason.  When not actively involved in my sons’ schools, I am an avid tennis player.
